The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) is a public service broadcaster, founded in 1922. It is the world’s oldest national broadcaster and the largest in the United Kingdom. The BBC is a quasi-autonomous corporation operated by the Royal Charter, which states that the BBC must “provide impartial public service broadcasting in the UK”. The BBC provides television, radio, and online services in the United Kingdom and internationally. Its objective is to inform, educate, and entertain. It has been argued that the BBC provides a “public service” by imparting education through its programming and content. This paper will critically examine this claim by looking at three specific educational programs offered by the BBC: Bitesize, Comic Relief, and Doctor Who.

سوال نمبر 5 ریڈیو کے ذریعہ تعلیم کی ترقی میں بھارت کس حد تک کامیاب ہوا ہے؟ مثالوں سے وضاحت کریں۔
In India, the radio has been used as a tool for the promotion of education since the 1960s. The first educational radio programme was broadcast by All India Radio (AIR) in 1960. The main objective of these programmes was to provide basic literacy and numeracy skills to adults who were not able to attend formal school. Since then, the use of radio for educational purposes has grown significantly. In the last five years alone, AIR has broadcast more than 10,000 hours of educational programming. This has reached an estimated audience of over 500 million people. There are a number of reasons why radio is an effective medium for the promotion of education. Radio is easily accessible and can reach remote areas where other forms of communication are not available.
